Bloggers choose artistic or aesthetically appealing designs for a number of reasons, but the main one seems to be the need to gain visual impact with the readers of their blog. The WordPress Theme Green Design is certainly artistic, and it will certainly achieve a high level of visual impact.

The header is what this theme is all about, at least initially. Totally swamped with the colour in the title, the header delivers a great-looking graphic, one that is artistic and definitely inspired. There is a watery feel to the header, one that could lend itself well to a self-improvement site perhaps, or any site that focuses on nature-related issues.

Along with all of this you also get a sidebar on the right hand side that is totally widget friendly. This allows for the ultimate in functionality, and a real chance for the blogger to grab their readers with some user-friendly content. Widgets do need to be enabled on the blogger’s admin page however. Many bloggers forget to do this, and end up with a lot of potential for their blog and not much more.

This is a great WordPress template, one which really gets your attention.

Dreamplace is a gorgeous WordPress Theme that really transports the viewer to somewhere else. Truly calming and evocative, the theme can best be used on a travel blog perhaps. The travel blogger will be wanting to provide a hint of excitement to anyone who visits, perhaps a nod towards somewhere that their visitors might like to go. This WordPress template can do just that.

It is a two column template, as basic as most people need it to be without being too simplistic. It also contains a sidebar on the right hand side, which is fully widget compliant. This sidebar thus gives you total control over the functionality of a major part of your blog. You will be able to change the look of the sidebar, and offer extra information and entertainment to anyone who stumbles upon the blog, or your regular readers.

All recent posts and comments are displayed at the bottom of the page. This gives the template a slightly unconventional feel. As stated earlier, this theme would really be at home on a travel blog. It could also be used on a blog that offers some spiritual support to people. A very pleasing and ultimately calming template.

It is because there are so many different kinds of blogs out there that there are so many different themes for the blogs. You can write a blog on cake-making for example, or a blog on circus training. The potential is limitless.

There has been an increase in recent years in the number of blogs that are focused on the martial arts. This is due to the sport’s raising its profile, most noticeable with Taekwondo becoming an Olympic sport recently. One WordPress Theme that could be used quite easily in the work of a martial arts blogger would be Japan Style.

This WordPress template is oriental in its look, pure and simple. The header is full of an oriental type scroll or papyrus, which lends the template an elegant look and feel. The two column theme also comes with a sidebar on the right hand side that is fully widget enabled. Handy for all of that much needed customisation.
The links that are contained on the page are also found on the little scraps of papyrus. This kind of thing gives the blog a clear feel and atmosphere. Perhaps one that is best for martial arts blogs, or travel blogs.

There are now literally hundreds of blogs out there that have a music or musician theme. They usually have very stylised and highly artistic themes from which to work from. There are only a few themes however, that are truly sophisticated in their subtlety, especially when it comes to music themes. Relief in Music does a very good job of being sleek and sophisticated, and all of this in two colours.

The two colours are orange and white. That’s it basically. However, this is all overshadowed (in a nice way) by a microphone graphic at the top left of the theme in the header area. This is a truly gorgeous graphic that really does a lot to set the tone for the whole theme. What’s more, it is so beautifully drawn that the reader cannot help but be drawn in.

This particular theme has another neat trick. As if its makers have expected it to be used for commercial reasons, there is a custom space in the middle of the header for advertising slots like Ad Sense.

The sidebar is on the right and is fully compliant with widgets. All in all, a refreshing theme, and a very commercial one.

Artists are perfect bloggers. They generally have small holdings when it comes to businesses, and if they don’t run a business, they love getting their work out on public display. The way they do this fits a blog perfectly. Having a simple and easy platform on which to display all of your work is a great relief to the artistic temperament. The artist is then left to the work they do best, which is designing their work. Having a blog theme that accommodates all of this has not always been easy. However, a new them that has come out, called See The Music, might just be what artists have been looking for.

See the Music has an absolutely incredible header. The header shows a selection of musical notes practically flying off the template in a burst of colour. This really sets the scene for the template, and makes it extraordinarily attractive for the reader.

The main content area after all of that colour is white. This is the same for the sidebar. This adds to the gentle but colourful look of the whole thing. The sidebar is on the left and is fully widget compliant. A great, artistic theme.

There has rarely been a WordPress Theme that has managed to somehow meld the artistic aesthetic as well as the Nature aesthetic. However, one has been developed recently that has come as close as you could to this intriguing mix.

Wealth of Nature is a two column WordPress template that works very hard to produce a striking ambience, one that is nature based. This is created immediately by the striking header, which depicts a tree, drawn beautifully.

The sidebar is over on the right had side, and it is totally widget compliant. This leads to great usability on the part of the reader, and great functionality on the part of the blogger. The Wealth of Nature title is found slap bang in the middle of the header, and adds to the calm feel of the template beautifully.

The colour scheme for the template is brown and yellow. Overall, this is a visually striking WordPress Theme.
A word of warning however. To save yourself a lot of time, it is very important to make sure that you enable widgets on your admin page as soon as you upload this template. This will stop you from wasting time trying to ‘fix’ widgets.

For those people who want to create a blog that has a real Nature ambience to it, they could do a lot worse than think about the WordPress Theme called Outdoorsy.

This WordPress template is incredibly attractive to look at. It is a standard two column WordPress template, and this means the sidebar is positioned on the right hand side of the screen. The sidebar is widget friendly, allowing for customisation.

The header for this template is highly striking, featuring as it does a flowery graphic that has bold and striking colours in it. This header does a lot to grab the reader’s attention, and the rest of the template is more subtle by comparison.

Saying that, the designers have worked hard on the aesthetics. The main text entry area looks like a crumpled and discarded piece of paper lying on grass. This shows how the template would easily fit in to the blogging aims of someone who wants to create a blog based on Nature issues, or someone who sells camping equipment, perhaps.

Just a note. If you do decide to take on this WordPress template, don’t forget to enable the widgets in the admin section of your blog.

Every now and then a WordPress theme template comes along that goes against all of the normal expectations for themes. Many themes these days are clean and streamlined, with a nice, basic interface that does not get in the way of the content. Scruffy has an interface that does not affect the content, but it would be difficult to claim that it is in any way clean.

The header graphic catches the attention of the viewer immediately, having as it does some rather arresting spatter marks on the far right hand side. This is a highly stylised theme, and will not be to everyone’s tastes. However, it is arresting and entertaining to look at.

The theme has a perfectly functional sidebar on the right hand side. This sidebar has all that a blogger would need for a good selection of widgets to be introduced to the theme. If you do choose to add widgets to the theme (and almost every blogger does), just make sure that you set the theme to allow widgets in your admin page.

An arresting theme and one which will not be for everyone. However, very eye-catching and functional. It was designed by Cobus Bester.

There are a number of WordPress templates out there right now that aim to show off something special when they load up. They display an eye for beauty and detail. Many of these are developed so that bloggers who use them as a platform can catch the eyes of readers. One such theme is Fractality.

Basically, the header has a graphic that can only be described as breathtaking. It is the main feature of the theme, bringing to mind a futuristic, almost science fiction type feel that really gets your attention immediately. So arresting is the header, in fact, that it takes you a good few seconds to realise that the theme also has a lot more to offer.

The page links can be found just below the header, and are easily accessed. The two column design serves the crisp feel of the theme well, and the sidebar is also a little unique, being as it is on the left hand side. This works really well, and adds to the bright, futuristic feel of the template.

The main content area is white, which gives it a clean look. The designer is called Lorelei. Definitely worth a look.
