The retro or half finished look that comes with some templates these days is becoming more modish as they get even more complex. The unique style of these kinds of templates means that they are not readily used by many bloggers, but they are attractive, and have a definite role to fill.

The Wordpress Theme Page Style definitely has a distinctive air to it. This is because it fits this kind of retro, rough and ready feel. The colours are muted or washed out, and the whole thing hangs together in a kind of ragtag way. That said, it definitely has a clear atmosphere.

On the technical side of things, the Wordpress template has two excellent sidebars housed within its three column structure. One sidebar has all of the Meta data that any blogger comes to expect these days, including blog roll data and other useful preferences. These can of course be adjusted. However, the second sidebar allows for even more customisation than expected, with the option to include more widgets in this sidebar. This means that your readers can expect a much more enjoyable experience with much more options as regards what they do when they hit your blog.

Dreamplace is a gorgeous Wordpress Theme that really transports the viewer to somewhere else. Truly calming and evocative, the theme can best be used on a travel blog perhaps. The travel blogger will be wanting to provide a hint of excitement to anyone who visits, perhaps a nod towards somewhere that their visitors might like to go. This Wordpress template can do just that.

It is a two column template, as basic as most people need it to be without being too simplistic. It also contains a sidebar on the right hand side, which is fully widget compliant. This sidebar thus gives you total control over the functionality of a major part of your blog. You will be able to change the look of the sidebar, and offer extra information and entertainment to anyone who stumbles upon the blog, or your regular readers.

All recent posts and comments are displayed at the bottom of the page. This gives the template a slightly unconventional feel. As stated earlier, this theme would really be at home on a travel blog. It could also be used on a blog that offers some spiritual support to people. A very pleasing and ultimately calming template.

Artists are perfect bloggers. They generally have small holdings when it comes to businesses, and if they don’t run a business, they love getting their work out on public display. The way they do this fits a blog perfectly. Having a simple and easy platform on which to display all of your work is a great relief to the artistic temperament. The artist is then left to the work they do best, which is designing their work. Having a blog theme that accommodates all of this has not always been easy. However, a new them that has come out, called See The Music, might just be what artists have been looking for.

See the Music has an absolutely incredible header. The header shows a selection of musical notes practically flying off the template in a burst of colour. This really sets the scene for the template, and makes it extraordinarily attractive for the reader.

The main content area after all of that colour is white. This is the same for the sidebar. This adds to the gentle but colourful look of the whole thing. The sidebar is on the left and is fully widget compliant. A great, artistic theme.

Some Wordpress Theme designs are so incredibly artistic that they could well be described as avant garde. One such theme is the quite gorgeous Color Paper Wordpress template. This theme is truly unique, and it is for that reason that many people will either find it very easy to fit into their blogging portfolio, or ridiculously challenging.

It is a standard two column template, but that is just about the only standard thing about it. The design is such that a reader would look at the page and see a number of sheets of coloured paper lying on a floor. It is a quite beautiful effect, and one that would grab anyone’s attention.

The sidebar is on the right hand side and totally supports the famous Wordpress widgets. This offers you complete functionality with your blog, allowing you to add tools and other buttons to your sidebar, and therefore offer more exciting blog experiences for your readers.

This is primarily a visual blog, with a massive visual impact. If this is your thing, then it could be worth investigating from your point of view. The theme is on freethemelayouts.com. Head on over, and see if it will work for you.

If you are looking for a Wordpress theme with a financial feel to it, one for a money blog perhaps, then Financial Circle could be just what you are looking for. The theme has an amazingly clean and functional feel to it, perfect for a straightforward financial blog.

This is a two column theme, which means it saves the best part of the page for the content that the blogger wants to include. This means that the sidebar, which is over to the right, is free to offer all of the customisable widgets that the best blogs have. In other words, it is a highly functional theme template.

The main content area works on a white background with grey text. This fits in with the financial feel that the theme generates. Muted colours meld well with the theme of money and financial propriety.

An unusual RSS button is found in the top left hand corner. This is different because the graphic itself has probably never been witnessed before. It is a nice customised touch that readers of the blog will appreciate. This is a highly functional theme, yet one that also fits in neatly with a definite mood.

There are a number of Wordpress templates out there right now that aim to show off something special when they load up. They display an eye for beauty and detail. Many of these are developed so that bloggers who use them as a platform can catch the eyes of readers. One such theme is Fractality.

Basically, the header has a graphic that can only be described as breathtaking. It is the main feature of the theme, bringing to mind a futuristic, almost science fiction type feel that really gets your attention immediately. So arresting is the header, in fact, that it takes you a good few seconds to realise that the theme also has a lot more to offer.

The page links can be found just below the header, and are easily accessed. The two column design serves the crisp feel of the theme well, and the sidebar is also a little unique, being as it is on the left hand side. This works really well, and adds to the bright, futuristic feel of the template.

The main content area is white, which gives it a clean look. The designer is called Lorelei. Definitely worth a look.

When it comes to basic Wordpress designs, there can’t be many more basic than Eliba. This design has a simple kind of ‘swab’ effect that dominates the visual aspect of the template. Basically, this means that the template looks like it has been brushed with a paintbrush, with some very colourful paint on it.

It is quite a distinctive look. It is effective, because it certainly grabs the reader’s attention. The blue header is like one big splash from a paintbrush. This is where the blog title and the subtitle can be found.

The template really comes into its own when you look at the content area. This is in a very striking yellow colour. The writing in this area is in black, with the two colours contrasting in a very effective way.

The sidebar for the template can be found on the right hand side of the theme. This is a pretty traditional location for a sidebar, which means that the majority of the readers will find it very easy to get used to the whole thing within minutes. This is of course perfect for widgets, and adds to the functionality of the piece. Avery effective template indeed.
