It is always nice to see some great templates that utilise a lot of colour in their work. These are not exactly common, and this is a great shame, because they definitely help reads get more enjoyment out of the blogs that they are reading. The trend is however, mostly focused on colder colours and minimalism right now. This is not going to change in any great way in the near future. However, now and then a Wordpress Theme comes along that really tries it’s best to be as colourful and artistic as it could possibly be, and it is templates like that that make trawling the web so much fun.

One such Wordpress template is Hot Orange, which has exactly what you would expect it to have when you look at the title. The theme is all based upon hot vibrant orange colours that fill up the screen when you take your first look at the template. You cannot really get away from the fantastic header, which contains a very colourful, artistic image surrounded by the aforementioned colour. If you do manage to finally drag yourself away, you will note that this template has two sidebars for full functionality.

There are plenty of minimalist templates out there to choose from if you are a blogger wanting to make an impact with such a vehicle. The idea is that minimalism allows the content that the blogger wants to put to the fore to be noticed and read much more closely than it would if the Wordpress Theme had lots of fancy graphics or an abundance of slow loading video. The Citrus Island Wordpress template is definitely a minimalist theme, and one that manages to make a striking impact without having much to work with.

This is a three column template, and as such has an increased amount of functionality in that you can enable widgets on your blog. Widgets can bring a whole new experience to a blog, with reader being able to change some aspects of content to their own liking for example. OR a widget could be introduced for the blogger that enables them to collect email addresses for subscriptions, in turn helping them to monetise their blogging platform by building a list.

Citrus Island has a lot going for it. It has simple and fresh colours that do not offend the reader, and these work well together.

There is a clear surplus of money orientated blogs floating around at the moment, with finance writers and firms eager to get their own opinions about markets and indexes out to the blogosphere. The amount of bloggers who just like discussing money in general is exploding too. Personal finance, for example, is a major issue at the moment, and perhaps for good reason. Any blogger who is able to provide valuable content on this issue will be eagerly read, as many people find themselves having to think more carefully about how they treat their finances in the short to medium term.

A Wordpress Theme that perfectly encapsulates the feel for such a blog is Cashflow 101. This template easily conveys the finance ‘feel’ for anyone who wants to blog on such an issue. The main header graphic is that of a combined dollar and Euro sign. This gives the image of a money blog.

The sidebar is fully widget compatible. It is also nicely positioned on the right hand side of the screen. The colour scheme is dominated by a proud dark blue.

This is a truly attractive Wordpress template, and one that any finance blogger should be looking into.

Sometimes Wordpress Theme designers work particularly hard to integrate an advertising interface in their themes. This means that bloggers who want to monetise their blog (make money off it) can do so by including advertising without too much fuss. Sometimes some Wordpress themes prove difficult to manage when it comes to including advertising. Technology continues to impress theme designers when it comes to Wordpress. The trend towards creating themes that pick up on the technology aspect and run with it is growing steadily. One such theme that leans heavily on this high tech feel is Orange Techno.

This theme has been worked so that it impresses anyone who likes clean, computer linked lines in their themes. This means those people who like to buy gadgets and applications that are futuristic in their looks. This theme has all of this in bags, and basically makes one think of a computer interface, albeit one from the distant future.

The sidebar has exciting and well-produced orange links. This gives the whole thing a nice, contemporary feel. It is hard to do colour well when it comes to templates. However, the designers of this particular theme have managed this well, bringing a nice splash of orange to the overall feel of muted, cool colours.

The sidebar is very functional, and is located on the right hand side of the screen. It is of course highly widget friendly, like many of the newer themes these days. The whole template is clean, futuristic, and highly attractive.
